One More Cat runs onemorecat.net and its studio mailing list. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

Just visiting and playing

The cats, toys, scratches and disco run in your browser. We do not save your play history or create a visitor account. Those interactions and page settings stay in memory for the page session. Our website code includes no advertising trackers or analytics scripts, and does not store play data in cookies or browser storage. Fonts and audio are served with the site.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. It processes technical request information, which can include your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time, for delivery, reliability and security. Our signup service also uses temporary request information to limit repeated submissions. This is separate from the cats’ play state.

Joining the mailing list

If you submit the signup form, we send your email address and subscription request to Kit, our mailing-list provider. We use these records to send the confirmation email, manage your subscription and deliver occasional studio and game announcements. We do not sell your personal information.

Our signup uses email confirmation. An unconfirmed entry can remain in Kit while confirmation is pending, but it is not sent studio announcements or counted as a confirmed member of the colony. Kit may keep subscription, consent, delivery and email-interaction records as part of providing the mailing list.

Optional community cat names

If you choose to submit a nickname for a public community cat, that nickname is intended to be visible to other visitors. Leave it blank if you only want the mailing list. Please use a fictional nickname rather than personal information about yourself or someone else.

We store your submitted nickname and a private adoption invitation with your Kit record. After confirming your email, use the invitation in that email and choose “Meet my cat” to publish the nickname. The invitation is valid for seven days; expiration does not automatically delete an unconfirmed subscription or its stored invitation. A successful adoption clears the stored invitation.

Only names submitted for public display, accepted by our name checks and associated with a confirmed subscription are eligible to appear. Email addresses and private subscriber identifiers are not published. The colony shows a sample of public names and a combined confirmed-subscriber total. These summaries refresh periodically, so changes may take a few minutes to appear. Report a name or ask us to remove yours.

Your choices and retention

You can stop announcements using the unsubscribe link in any mailing-list email. Unsubscribing stops mail; it does not automatically erase the existing subscription history in Kit. Keeping an unsubscribe record helps us respect your choice.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your mailing-list information or public nickname by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify that a request comes from the address concerned. We retain information only for the purposes described here and any necessary security, consent or legal records; our service providers may have separate backup and deletion periods.

If you contact the studio directly, we use your address and message to respond and handle your request. Our studio mailbox uses Google Workspace.

The services involved

Cloudflare provides website delivery and security, Kit provides the mailing list, and Google Workspace provides our contact mailbox. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Their policies and processing terms explain their handling and transfer safeguards: Cloudflare privacy, Kit’s data processing terms, Kit privacy, and Google’s data processing terms.

This notice covers this website and mailing list. Linked services, such as OpenTS3, have their own practices. We will update this page when our handling changes.
